Sean graduated from the Missouri University of Science & Technology (Missouri S&T) in December 2019, earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology with a minor in Business. He works as an Information Technology professional with skills in customer support, network administration, system administration, software and web development, and graphic/document design.
While in high school, Sean worked alongside the Information Technology Staff at the Adrian R-3 School District to improve network infrastructure, organization, and documentation. During this time, Sean restructured the district’s phone system dial plan and assisted in the process of migrating the district’s student resources to iPads. In addition to his work for the school district, Sean held leadership roles at both the local and state level in the Missouri Technology Student Association (TSA). Having served with distinction as the Treasurer for the local Adrian High School chapter of TSA for two years he was subsequently elected President of the chapter in 2012. In 2013, he was elected to serve as the Vice-President for Missouri State TSA. As a state officer, Sean worked with the State Officer Team to develop presentations and meeting agendas for the upcoming year and presented leadership topics to new TSA members during Missouri TSA’s Fall Leadership Conference.
After relocating to Rolla for college, Sean continued to serve in leadership roles while also working part-time to gain extra experience in his chosen field of study. He served as Secretary and Grounds Manager for the Epsilon Nu chapter of Delta Tau Delta and became Treasurer in 2017. During his term as Treasurer, Sean created electronic workflows that made the position more streamlined. He received an Award of Distinction from the Western Plains Division of Delta Tau Delta for his outstanding service as Chapter Treasurer in 2018.
Sean worked at the Missouri S&T IT Help Desk from 2016 through 2019. In addition to his required tasks of troubleshooting, he created scripts and Google Apps that have made work at the Help Desk more efficient, and in some cases, automated. Sean also assisted the IT Department by creating information graphics, videos and printed media related to IT services. In Summer 2017, he took a semester co-op with the IT Help Desk and worked as a temporary full-time employee for the University. In 2019, Sean created most of the publication media that announced the UM-AD Domain Migration Project to the Missouri S&T campus.
In June of 2019, Sean transferred to Desktop Deployment to assist with the Windows 7 Decommission Project. There, he helped to rebuild the University’s Windows PE image from the ground up, with new features and a smaller operating footprint. He held this position until graduating from Missouri S&T.
In January of 2020, Sean began development on an online information service operating as County Connections. It’s purpose was to provide citizens of Bates, Cass, Henry, St. Clair and Vernon with primarily a better understanding of political, government, and educational boundaries and services in their respective counties. This concept started as an completely custom CMS but was later migrated into WordPress for a more robust experience. In addition, there was a business directory and classifieds system implemented as Bates County, at the time, had just lost its last well established printed media. The classifieds system was almost immediately retired when an established news blog took over management of the printed classifieds in the county.
In March of 2020, County Connections began to serve what later became its only purpose. Sean developed a COVID-19 notice system that brought as many updates about closures or remote operates or general updates from businesses, governments, and schools into one centralized and searchable location. County Connections as a whole was mostly retired in June and July of 2020.
In June of 2020, Sean began work for Infinity Technology Services, a Kansas City based IT services company, as the first contracted employee for Liberty Link, an Internet Service Provider, in Holden, Missouri. His duties started as an installation technician where he evaluated serviceability of addresses in Western Johnson County, Missouri and installed and maintained fixed wireless broadband equipment.
In September 2020, because of the rapid growth of Liberty Link, he was temporarily promoted to General Manager. During this period, Sean worked Liberty Link’s owners to compile a grant application for the C.A.R.E.S. Act in the State of Missouri that allowed Liberty Link to build its first self supporting tower and provide fiber optic service to it’s first 96 addresses within the City of Holden. Once the grant was approved by the State of Missouri, he was part of the hands on teams that built the towers and built the GPON Fiber Optic network while also creating the some of the necessary documentation as required by the State of Missouri for accounting purposes.
In February 2021, Sean became Regional Manager of the Holden Region of Liberty Link as Liberty Link had launched its Windsor Region. His role was focused to include management of an employee, coordinating and scheduling new installations, coordinating repairs, designing infrastructure upgrades and build out, and working with the Managing Partner to manage a budget. Towards the end of this role, Sean began to take on more system and network administration roles for Liberty Link. He took over firmware and software update management for all networking and management platforms as well as becoming the company’s billing software and website administrator. With this role, Sean implemented new features that further automated the billing process while increasing communication of billing matters with the customers and an information centralization project was started to move ticketing, lead management, customer management, and networking into one singular system.
In May of 2020, because of Liberty Link’s acquisition of RuralWeb Solutions, Sean became a Senior System Administrator for Liberty Link. In this role, he has worked with the former owners of RuralWeb Solutions to learn their network design and design and implement a migration plan to move from their existing billing and management systems to Liberty Link’s systems. Sean also designed and implemented the company’s network naming and organization standards during the QoE implementation project which required significant management system reorganization, increased network monitoring, and the implementation of a new subscriber authentication method. It is during this time that Sean has gained most of his experience with network optimization and routing design. He is currently heavily involved in building new core routing infrastructure that will service both Liberty Link and Infinity Technology Services.
In his free time, Sean has previously developed software applications. One of his longest running projects was a program called StrobeControl. StrobeControl, started in 2010 and discontinued in 2016, simulates dance lighting effects such as light grids, laser projectors, and color washes with on digital projectors. The last version is still available on cnet.com. In 2021, he did a brief project that was started to further automate work processes with Liberty Link but it evolved from a separate system to a series of webhook and cron scripts.
He also designs and develops interactive concept PowerPoints, at the request of viewers on YouTube, and makes them available on his secondary website, aacompware.com. Sean’s YouTube channel, MoMusician, was operated from 2011 to 2019. On this channel, he produced videos about his software and PowerPoints along with a few video game related videos ranging from independently developed video games to Minecraft mods. Sean sometimes will also produce videos documenting his misadventures with his brother.
