IT Help Desk Digital Display Graphics

Below is a sample of images of slides that run on the IT Help Desk’s main information display in the Walk-In Center. They are created from a custom PowerPoint template that I designed for the Help Desk. The PowerPoint is exported into a Google Slideshow and displayed by a Raspberry Pi that runs custom scripts written by Bailey Eversmeyer and myself.

UM Active Directory Consolidation Project

In May of 2019, the UM System announced that they would be consolidating the four independent active directories of each campus (Mizzou, UMKC, Missouri S&T, and UMSL) into one single active directory (umsystem.edu). I was asked to create posters, postcards, and various digital signage media to communicate the changes to the Missouri S&T campus. While I designed all of the content, I had to indirectly work with the Missouri S&T Marketing and Communications team to ensure that wording was within the University’s style guidelines.

CLC Lock Screen

This lock screen was developed to be assigned to all CLC computers via Group Policy so that students would know how to log in during the transition period. At a later date, the default domain was changed and the lock screen was removed.

It was designed to work on both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios and stays fully visible after the animation effect of the login screen appearing (excluding the May 2019 Windows Release).

The IT department elected to use a modified version with the ‘UM AD Consolidation’ text removed as a permanent lock screen.

Announcement Flyer

This flyer was physically printed and delivered to all departments (both academic and operational). and placed in as many hallways as possible. It was meant to increase awareness of the project, provide the important change and a location to get more information, if desired.

Mailed Postcard

This postcard was mailed to all staff and faculty of the University. It was meant to provide a quick reference for after the migration. It explained how to fix login issues and reset any mail applications.

Project Announcement

Adapted from the flyer’s layout, this graphic was placed in the public asset store so that anyone with a MinerBytes display could display the information. It was meant to serve as another form of the flyer. It has both a landscape and portrait version.

Student Account Scheduling

Unlike the Project Announcement, this digital signage graphic was only displayed at the IT Help Desk on both it’s landscape and portrait displays.

CLC Lock Screens

Below are concept lock screens that were created for the UM AD Consolidation Project before the login message was added. The IT Communications team elected to use the solid Cyprus version.

Logo Digitization and Effect Design

The ‘DLP Logo’ was originally drawn by hand by the client. The drawing was digitized and processed through Adobe Photoshop. An animated version of the logo can be seen on the Video Production section of the portfolio.
